Dartford Sealer Nitro Spray, Clear - 400mL
Use 400mL spray of Dartford Clear Nitrocellulose sealer in its clear and transparent version to finish your guitar kit build. Specifically developed for electric guitar it permits an excellent coverage and wetting of the pore. This sealer dry rapidly and has a high hiding power as well as very good light protection. Each layer applied will merge nicely and will allow the wood to breathe to provide quality sound. Perfect as a basecoat to provide a smooth and stable base onto which to apply the finish. Clear will allow the wood’s grain to show through and has a slight warming effect typical of nitrocellulose finishes.

USAGE OF NITROCELLULOSE SEALER DURING THE FINISHING PROCESS OF YOUR GUITAR KIT BUILD
The nitrocellulose spray sealer is used to seal the pore and is the very first coat you want to pass to finish your guitar kit (unless you have decided to use grain filler: see grain filler section). The clear sealer offers a high transparency and is well indicated for natural finishing:
- before passing colour lacquer such as amber or butterscotch,
- with dye/tint in which case we advise to stain first and then seal. With dye, we also prefer to use waterbase sealer instead of nitrocellulose,
- to seal the wood before passing your top coat such as varnish clear lacquer or shellac . This way you will get a proper natural finishing of your electric guitar.
The natural colour of wood and the wood mesh will be preserved and its grains revitalised.
NITROCELLULOSE SEALER COMPATIBILITY WITH OUR GUITAR FINISHING PRODUCTS.
The nitrocellulose primer is compatible with all our nitrocellulose products: nitrocellulose lacquers, nitrocellulose varnish as well as our grain filler and our guitar polishing.
NITROCELLULOSE SEALER PREPARATION AND APPLICATION.
Apply thin layers of nitrocellulose primer to avoid any drip and get a homogeneous distribution. Wait between 8 to 12 hours between coats. It is advised to sand slightly before putting the next coat to ensure that new coat will attached well. Note that Nitrocellulose is toxic and need protection during the finishing step of your guitar kit build: google, mask and gloves available on our website.
